

When the Associated General Contractors of America approached Blackbarn Media about redesigning their annual Products and Services Catalog, they had some clear concerns that they wanted to address; hard to find products, cluttered layout and a generally difficult to reference marketing piece. Overall, their top priority was to make the catalog more user-friendly for the members they serve.
After introducing a new color palette as well as a set of product icons, Blackbarn color-coded each section, making them easily referenced both from the inside and outside of the catalog. The 56 page layout featured a modular grid, with ample amounts of white space to maintain a clean and clear presentation of products. The final piece reflected a more modern and certainly pleasing aesthetic for a conservative audience. The new design and format had such a dramatic impact on new sales that a “spin-off” catalog.
